[“福”倒的起源] 平安福2018保费一览表

　　 编者注： 同学们知道为什么在中国，过年的时候，家家户户都会在门上倒着贴一个福字吗？其实，倒和到是谐音，表示福气到了的意思。这个故事起源于…… 　　 　　 It was said that the custom started in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1368-1644). Before that no one hung “Happiness” upside down.
　　 据说，明朝（公元1368-1644年）以前，老百姓门口的福字都是正的，倒着贴这个习俗是从明朝开始的。
　　 The founding emperor Zhu Yuanzhang often went into the city disguised （化装） as an ordinary citizen.
　　 明朝的开国皇帝朱元璋经常化装成平民到民间调查。
　　 One day, he heard a family criticizing him. Emperor Zhu got very angry and decided to kill the family on the night of New Year’s Eve. He turned the character “Happiness” on their door upside down to mark the house.
　　 一天，他听到一家人在聊天时说他的坏话，非常生气，就把这家门上的福字倒过来作为记号，准备在除夕晚上派人来把这家人杀光。
　　 When Emperor Zhu got back to the palace, he was still angry. Then he told this to her wife Empress Ma.
　　 回到皇宫后，朱元璋还是很生气，于是告诉了他的妻子马皇后。
　　 Empress Ma was a kind-hearted person. In order to prevent a tragedy, she gave an order that every family should hang “Happiness” upside down on the door.
　　 马皇后是一个善良的人，为了避免这场灾难，她偷偷下令全城的人都把自己家门上的福字倒过来贴。
　　 On the night of New Year’s Eve, the men sent by Emperor Zhu found that every family had hung “Happiness” upside down, and couldn’t find their target, Emperor Zhu was angry thinking the whole city was against him.
　　 到了除夕晚上，朱元璋派出的人发现所有的福字都是倒着的，再也找不着那家人了。朱元璋发怒了，他以为全城的人都在和他作对。
　　 Empress Ma told him, “It is every one’s wish that happiness will arrive in the New Year, People who hang ‘Happiness’ upside down are looking forward to receiving great future and success in their life.” She persuaded Emperor Zhu to listen to the people’s opinion with huminity.
　　 马皇后对朱元璋说：“老百姓故意把福字贴倒了，是希望福到，这是大吉大利意思啊。”然后又劝他应该虚心接受意见。
　　 Emperor Zhu accepted it and ordered people to hang “Happiness” upside down during Chinese New Year. When others see it, they will say, “Happiness has arrived!Happiness has arrived!”
　　 朱元璋觉得有道理，就下令以后的福字都倒着贴。从此，过年的时候大家都会在门上贴着一个倒着的福字，别人看见了也会说：“福到了！福到了！”
