Internship Planning This term’s task is a practise of tourist guide in yangshuo ,Guilin, which will last for about half a month. At the first week we will remain in campus and during the rest two week,we will go to Guilin, Guangxi province,which is one of the hottest tourist cities in china. I am in high spirit and have great expectation to this travel, but first and foremost, i must set a plan in detail and make good preparation for it. Shopping, traveling, eating and learning are four usual things we will do. But i should keep it in mind that the most important of all is learning. From my prespective This is an effect way to improve my Oral English though communicating with foreign and i may expose my shortcomings when talking with them---how to orgenize the content that i want to express, how to speak clearly and fluently, how to avoid as much grammatical mistakes as possible, ect. . I have made a questionaire about chinese culture, so i will take with the foreign tourists about it,more exactly, i will discuss with them. Moreover, i have collected a lot of information about li river and elephant trunk hill, so i will be a good guider. From what teacher said, there are plenty of opportunities we can have a conversation with foreigners whom come from all over the world, for instance, Americans, British, Canadians and Japanese, especially in a place named West Street. You can see that even the dining girls or shopkeepers in here they can say some different foreign languages and have a usual communication with those foreign consumers. Therefore, to me, Yang Shuo seems a magical place full of challenges. We have a lot of approaches to achieve the ultimate goal. What is our goal? In short, we should speak english with foreigners and classmates as much as possible, we should overcome our weaknesses in spoken english , we should increase the basic abilities in tourist guide, last but not least, we should improve the all-over cabability in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and traslation. These are our hopes and wishes, however, by harding working and active participating, we will achieve our goals. We tend to take English just as an course to learn from primary school to college, but in the end, We still can't speak English. Why do we spent more than ten years, twenty years of time to learn a lot of knowlegde that that We cannot use it in the practical life fundamentally. what methods should We take to enables us to master English in the shortest time? Language exchange and mastering a large vocabulary, sentence structure, grammar are two different things. I will learn a lot that i can’t learn in the classroom. I felt the pretty importance of spoken English deeply. English is the international language. It is hard to learn English well even if We are an English professional student. So it is the necessary path for us to study English. We only learn to speak English, We can really blend in other countries'

the field of culture understand them thoroughly and learn advanced technology and excellent foreign culture from them. We can also teach foreigners broaden and profound Chinese culture. “knowledge comes from practise”, by travelling around Guilin scenic spot like seven stars park , li river, west street, elephant trunk hill , not only can i enjoy the picturesque surroundings and have a lot of interesting experiences of cultural differences, but also advance myself in practice constantly and learn about the external world. if we want to have a smooth communication face to face with foreign friends, i think, we should avoid some of the questions that somebody else has asked many times, such as: how are you? What's your name? Where are you come from? What is your phone number? And so on. If foreign friends had face the same, simple and boring questions so many times, they will feel bored. We should ask them like this: “How are you feeling recently? What’s your impression of Yangshuo? Is Yangshuo a fun and famous place? And your travel plans?"

Because foreign friends come to Yangshuo isn’t to make friends with us only or to answer our questions, their purpose is to pay a visit here and have a relax, so talking about their mood and feelings now or travel plans next should be the most important thing they care about, only in this way can foreign friends will willing to talk with us. These are the communication skills i have accumulated that i would like to mention. In a word, practice does not mean playing in Yangshuo .Our main task is to practice our spoken English and to strech our compititiveness in english learning. It is very lucky to have the chance to exercise and test myself, I believe the internship harvest will let me benefit for life.
